Wintertime Projects:

Wintertime provides us with the chance to catch up on yardwork and/or things that didn’t get done earlier in the year. Jessie has been busy cutting down timber, making way to plant our walnut trees in the spring; we’re also planning to use some of the bigger logs to build a retaining wall on the backside of the garden - pictures to come with completion in the spring!

Another project we’ve now started is the cold stratification process the tree seeds must go through prior to planting in the spring – this helps to ensure the seeds are viable and ready to sprout when the time comes.

We (currently) have Black walnut and peach trees started, but plan to start our Apple, Pear, Pawpaw, Persimmon, and Sugar Maples soon!
